Chau Nguyen - Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Chau Nguyen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Engineered Custom Solutions (ECS). With more than 25 years of engineering leadership and entrepreneurial experience, Chau founded ECS in 2017 to build an engineering- driven organization grounded in quality, safety, and disciplined execution.
Chau’s career spans the full lifecycle of riser and subsea equipment systems, including concept development, detailed engineering, manufacturing, qualification testing, refurbishment, and life-extension. His technical expertise enables ECS to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that are compliant, buildable, and reliable, with designs that account for real-world operating conditions, risk, and long-term performance.
Chau approaches complex challenges through first-principles engineering, thorough planning, and a strong focus on execution. His leadership emphasizes clear scope definition, proactive risk management, continuous improvement, and adherence to proven procedures to ensure work is performed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
Equally important to Chau is people. He leads with integrity and respect, fostering a collaborative culture where accountability, safety, and trust are shared responsibilities. Chau holds a Bachelor of Science in Maritime Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Justin fraczek - President
Justin Fraczek is the President of Engineered Custom Solutions (ECS), responsible for the company’s overall performance, including P&L ownership, strategic direction, and execution across engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
With 19 years of industry experience, Justin’s career is rooted in the development and delivery of complex subsea and drilling systems. His technical background includes mechanical engineering and design, metallurgy, advanced manufacturing, and finite element analysis (FEA), with deep expertise in deepwater drilling equipment and managed pressure drilling (MPD) technologies.
Justin has led the full product lifecycle—from concept development and analytical modeling through detailed design, qualification testing, manufacturing, and field deployment. His approach emphasizes engineering rigor, compliance with applicable standards, and disciplined processes to ensure products meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.
An inventor with more than 21 patents in advanced drilling technologies, Justin has contributed to industry-recognized innovations that improve safety margins, operational efficiency, and system reliability. His leadership integrates technical depth with operational discipline, ensuring work is planned, executed, and delivered safely—on time and on budget.
Justin holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science Engineering and an MBA from Michigan Technological University. His work has been recognized with the OTC Technology Award, Hart’s Meritorious Engineering Award, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award.
